Dr Susan Knoll
I grew up in South Africa and did my primary medical degree at the University of Pretoria. In 2015, I immigrated to New Zealand and completed my post graduate training in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics through the Royal Australian College of Physicians. I've completed most of my training locally in the Bay of Plenty. I've worked at Waikato hospital for six months as part of my training requirements.
I've completed the Parkinson's Advanced MasterClass through the United Kingdom Neurology Academy in 2021 as part of my special interest in movement disorders. In 2024 I did the Melbourne Monash Perioperative Short Course to refine my perioperative care for older adults.
Over the past couple of years I've mainly been working in Ortho Geriatrics completing Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments, providing bone health advice and assisting in management of complications in the perioperative period. On occasion I also work on the Health-In-Ageing ward. My out patient work at the hospital is mainly focused around movement disorders.
My approach to patient care is based on comprehensive assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care to address the unique priorities of each individual.
I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, reading and playing tennis.
