Specialist Training:

Since graduating from the University of the West Indies, I have spent my clinical working life in the United Kingdom in general gastroenterology and internal medicine. After a permanent relocation to New Zealand in 2006, I undertook further specialty training in Gastroenterology Units in New Zealand and Australia. During this time, in addition to my clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology work, I have focused on ensuring that safe patient care is provided with consultative management plans along with appropriate endoscopy interventions. My most recent publication looked at Frailty Assessment in patients undergoing invasive colonoscopy.

I am also an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Auckland having been the recipient of the Distinguished Teacher of the Year 2025. I balance my clinical life with natural experiences such as forest bathing, tramps and bush walks.
