Dr Sarah Anticich

Dr Sarah Anticich is a senior clinical psychologist with extensive experience across oncology, haematology, gut–brain disorders, anxiety, and trauma. She has worked at the intersection of medicine and psychology for over two decades, supporting individuals and families navigating complex health conditions alongside psychological distress.
Her early career included specialist roles in neonatal intensive care, oncology and haematology services, where she provided psychological care to patients and their whānau throughout diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. This foundation has given her  expertise in adjustment to illness, grief, and resilience-building in the face of life-threatening conditions.
Sarah has also developed a specialist interest in disorders of the gut–brain axis, integrating the latest neuroscience and psychogastroenterology research into her clinical practice. She works collaboratively with medical specialists to provide evidence-based, biopsychosocial interventions that address both physical and emotional aspects of gut health.
Alongside her medical work, Sarah is widely recognised for her expertise in anxiety and trauma. She brings a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to therapy, supporting clients to build emotional regulation, restore a sense of safety, and reconnect with valued aspects of life.
Across all areas of her practice, Sarah integrates science-based psychological frameworks with warmth and humanity, tailoring her approach to the needs of each client. Her work is grounded in evidence, but delivered with a focus on clarity, compassion, and sustainable wellbeing.
