Abdominal Pain

Alarm Symptoms

If your pain;

  • Has come on suddenly
  • Is progressive and relentless

Is associated with;

  • Fever
  • Vomiting or vomiting blood
  • Pain on movement
  • Sweating
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Pregnancy

Then seek urgent medical attention.

No Alarm Symptoms

If you do not have any of the alarm symptoms, but have on-going abdominal pain then you may have an underlying medical problem.  If the pain is in the upper, lower or mid tummy, is changed by passing a bowel motion or eating and is predominately occurring during the day, then it may be coming from your gut.
While a serious disease can cause abdominal pain, there can also be less serious causes. These include;
